Map Servicing
Wednesday, 09 May 2007

Since June 2005, map copies of land parcels and other real estates registered in the area of Budapest have been serviced through TakarNet System. You can have the copy of the map of a given parcel or other property after a search started with its parcel identity number or postal address. In line with the speed of digital map production, the circle of those settlements has been growing day by day, the maps of which are getting ready for servicing. From April 2006 on, one can require map copies of rural land parcels registered at rural district land offices. TakarNet users can request map copies of parcels/properties of urban areas as well in more and more places of the country.

Changes of Land Registration Act
Wednesday, 28 February 2007

Changes in rules of law concerning land registration

Recently, two significant changes happened in the rules of law, which are guiding land registration activities. On 1st January 2006, the Act No. CXXII/2005 stepped into force and modified the Act CXLI/1997 on Land Registration. This influenced the Act No. LXXXV/1996 on Fees of Servicing Authorized Copies of Property Sheets and on the change of the Act on Stamp Duties (XCIII/1990) too.

Carry On Land Office!
Thursday, 31 May 2007

Though there were several initiatives aiming at dividing the uniform land registration system, the land administration successfully proved that they have been able to maintain the efficiency and the legal security in the usual way. For me it is quite evident that the tasks of public administration can be solved with the greatest efficiency in the current uniform system. The land administration has to go on with the electronic case management for improving the efficiency and the legal security. Services should be provided on equal conditions both for the players of business life, the citizens and the organizations of the State budget.

Why are Land Markets Required?
Thursday, 17 May 2007

Land is unlike other commodities that can be  bought and sold in that it is immoveable. Buildings upon it can be dismantled and moved elsewhere but the land on which they stand cannot be moved. Only the rights to use the land can be bought and sold.
Land markets exist when and wherever it is possible to exchange rights in land for agreed amounts of money or services rendered.  The ability and capacity of banks and other financial institutions to lend money is underpinned by an efficient land market, which in turn requires an efficient land administration system.

EULIS land information service
Tuesday, 15 May 2007

The aim of the European Land Information Service (EULIS) is to provide easy worldwide access to European land and property information, to underpin a single European property market. Although it is ultimately the citizens of Europe who have the most to gain from this new service, its target users are the professional intermediaries through which citizens act, such as lawyers, conveyancers and notaries, and service providers such as lenders and real estate agents.  By making it easier for professionals to do business in other jurisdictions, EULIS aims to promote the economy of the European Community by breaking down barriers to cross-border lending, enabling more competition in the secured credit and real property markets, bringing more choice for borrowers, providing links with non-EU countries and encouraging the spread of best practice.
